There are not very many science research conducted about the sport cricket. The few research carried out about cricket reveals some amazing facts on how cricket players perform their stunts on the field.
The most important findings were shown that experienced batsmen takes their eyes off the ball before knocking it for a six. Research also showed that their brain knows the path of the ball well ahead of time to position their bat for the stroke.
How do they do that? When the ball releases, it takes a split of a second to reach a batsman. However within the first 200 milliseconds after the ball is being released from the bowler’s hand, the batsmen calculates the distance at which the ball will bounce. This enables the batsman to prepare for his shot.
